What is Elevoplasty®?
Elevoplasty® may be able to fix your chronic snoring problems.
Millions of Americans suffer the consequences of snoring everyday. They let it impact their days as well as their nights, and even their relationships. Despite there being serious health risks associated with snoring and readily available treatment, many choose to let snoring continue to impact their lives. Don’t let snoring continue to cause problems, Elevoplasty® can offer minimally invasive relief.
What is Elevoplasty®?
Elevoplasty® is a minimally invasive, outpatient procedure that enhances patient treatment options for snoring. It involves lifting the soft palate with three bi-directional, barbed resorbable suture implants. These implants will gently lift your palate and stiffen it, to avoid the vibrating sound that is created when we sleep. Even a small lift of just 1-4 millimeters can produce great results and rid your airway of obstruction. Elevoplasty® can offer relief to patients who don’t want to wear an oral appliance at night or have invasive surgery. 3 out of 4 patients saw a reduction in snoring with Elevoplasty®.
Who can get Elevoplasty®?
For those who would like to treat their snoring and feel that Elevoplasty® might be the right option, they should first contact Dallas ENT. Patients who snore but are not suffering from sleep apnea may be a candidate for this procedure. Treatment needs are unique for all patients and they must be screened to ensure that Elevoplasty® is the right choice for them.
What Should I Expect After?
Patients who undergo Elevoplasty® can expect a sore throat for a few days after. Most patients are able to use over-the-counter medicine to relieve any pain after. There may be some minor bleeding, swelling, trouble swallowing, or bruising that occurs post-procedure. Avoiding spicy and acidic foods for a few days should help from furthering discomfort. After healing from the procedure, patients should see a reduction in snoring, better sleep quality, and decreased daytime sleepiness.
